I think the most intriguing idea from milton Freidman is that although he is against Big government he still thinks that they have a place in being the umpires of the market
The most unique and interesting view of Milton Friedman would probably be his ideas on monetary policy. The particularly odd idea he had was regarding the Federal Reserve. Accoridng to him, the Federal Reserve and its body of economic experts who control the supply of money, interest rates, and inflation, should all be abolished. He advocated not relying on a chairman to make the right decisions for what is an extremely difficult job (essentially managing our entire economy). Friedman did believe that the government had a role in providing money and controlling the supply of it, but he believed that management should be executed by a computer. He believed that a computer should keep the money supply rising at a steady rate, rather than having humans in charge who could drastically cut the money supply or drastically increase the money supply at random times.
I think his most interesting view is that Milton Friedman believes that Markets are able to solve economic problems better than the government can. He believes the government's role is small, but he believes government has the power to shut down monopolies if need be.
I think that his most interesting view is that basically almost all politicians are trying to do things beneficial for the people of the United States but they unfailingly end up spending all of their money in the wrong places and the most important programs are underfunded. He believes the government is the main problem for almost everything.
I think Milton Friedmans idea on freedom in general is quite interesting because he believes that an individual can do whatever they please as long as it is not harming others. He believes that the government should have no say for a decision in your life because that is not a free society and it is not right. I think this point is interesting because in our society today there are laws on many things like its illegal to do drugs or prostitution and Milton brings along a new idea on legalizing the things we would never even think to do.
The most interesting idea Milton Friedman had was that we should abolish the minimum wage. He believed that if businesses did not have to pay people nine dollars an hour they would be able to hire more and lower unemployment. The interesting thing about this idea is that unlike his other ideas it does not promote individual success with all parties; instead it promotes greed by employers.
There are lots of ideas that Milton Friedman had, that were quite interesting. One of them would have to be that doctors don't need to receive licenses. He believed this because then there would be more competition between businesses and us as patients, wouldn't have to pay as much. To me this idea is kind of scary, knowing that anyone could become a doctor without having a license.
I think that Milton Friedman's most interesting idea is to legalize drugs. Though the idea is not revolutionary the reasoning is. Friedman says that by legalizing drugs, it will free up law enforcement to focus on more violent crimes and dedicate less resources to what he views as "harmless" substances.
